Mill Valley, California — Recently, Chelsea Clinton has been traveling around to schools to promote her new book, It’s Your World, her most recent stop being Mill Valley Middle School.
Clinton’s inspiration for It’s Your World is the book 50 Simple Things Kids Can Do To Save The Earth, and how it’s motivated her to write something similar, but for kids in this current political climate.
Her biggest inspiration is being a new mother, which has really pushed her to want to make the world a better place, and for them to grow up in a place where they wouldn't be discriminated against, a place where they would be free to be the people they want to be.
At the assembly, one seventh grader asked, “Should I, being gay be worried because of the Trump administration’s homophobia?” Chelsea started off that she, of course is biased on the subject due to being raised in a liberal household.
She went on to talk about the recent debate on gay rights in states such as Tennessee, and how opposed she is to this along with the current administration.
Her answer was finished off with a statement that even though he’s a kid, he shouldn't feel held back to use his voice to make a better and more positive change in the world.
